Tucked into Georgia's northeastern corner where the Blue Ridge Mountains meet the Carolinas, Rabun County's rural, overwhelmingly white population has produced some of the state's widest Republican presidential margins for over a decade.
The Republican margin here reached sixty points in 1972. Between 2020 and 2024 the county moved one point toward the Democratic candidate; the 2024 margin was fifty-seven points.
