Bolivar County sits in the heart of the Mississippi Delta, where a majority African American population and persistent rural poverty have produced some of the most reliably Democratic presidential margins in the state for decades.
Across the recorded series it reached a Democratic high of 91.6 points in 1936 and a Republican high of 73.0 points in 1964. Between 2020 and 2024 the county moved 7.1 points toward the Republican candidate; the 2024 margin was 23.7 points.
