Hall County anchors Nebraska's Platte River corridor and hosts one of the state's largest beef-processing complexes, drawing a substantial Hispanic workforce that has steadily increased the county's demographic diversity even as presidential margins remain heavily Republican.
Hall County has leaned Republican in recent presidential elections, reaching a Democratic margin of thirty-four points in 1892. Between 2020 and 2024 it moved three points toward the Republican candidate — part of the sharpest rightward shift recorded among any group of places in the country.
Its demographics describe the shift: a 65% non-Hispanic-white share, a median household income of $69,251, and a population of 62,536. The county's voting pattern over the last decade is most similar to that of Adams County and Scotts Bluff County.
