Glenn County's economy centers on rice, almonds, and cattle ranching across the flat valley floor, and its rural, agriculture-dependent demographics have produced Republican presidential margins exceeding 30 points in every cycle since 2008.
Glenn County has leaned Republican in recent presidential elections, reaching a Democratic margin of fifty-four points in 1912. Between 2020 and 2024 it moved eight points toward the Republican candidate — part of the sharpest rightward shift recorded among any group of places in the country.
