St. Croix County sits just across the Minnesota border from the Minneapolis–St. Paul metro, and its fast-growing exurban population has shifted the county from a swing district to one of Wisconsin's more reliably Republican margins.
Across the recorded series it reached a Democratic high of 31.9 points in 1964 and a Republican high of 51.9 points in 1920. Between 2020 and 2024 the county moved 3.4 points toward the Republican candidate; the 2024 margin was 19.2 points.
