TX-27 stretches from the Houston suburbs down through Corpus Christi to the Rio Grande Valley edge, blending petrochemical corridor workers with agricultural communities in a district that has shifted steadily toward lopsided Republican margins over the past decade.
Across the recorded series it reached a Republican high of 25.8 points in 2004. Between 2020 and 2024 the district moved 3.8 points toward the Republican candidate; the 2024 margin was 21.2 points.
A population of 767,952, a 44% non-Hispanic-white share, and a median household income of $80,378 describe the district. The district's voting pattern over the last decade is most similar to that of Congressional District 23 and Congressional District 21.
