Medina County's sparse ranchland and small towns along the San Antonio exurban fringe have delivered lopsided Republican margins for decades, with the 2024 presidential result continuing a pattern of roughly 70-plus percent GOP support.
Medina County has leaned Republican in recent presidential elections, reaching a Democratic margin of sixty-six points in 1932. Between 2020 and 2024 it moved four points toward the Republican candidate — part of the sharpest rightward shift recorded among any group of places in the country.
