Rockland County's large Orthodox Jewish and Hasidic communities have driven a pronounced rightward realignment over the past decade, producing an R+11.8 margin in 2024 in a county that voted Democratic as recently as 2012.
Rockland County has leaned Republican in recent presidential elections, reaching a Democratic margin of twenty-eight points in 1964. Between 2020 and 2024 it moved thirteen points toward the Republican candidate — part of the sharpest rightward shift recorded among any group of places in the country.
